Following the Convocation ceremony on the afternoon of September 21st, students
will attend
Faculty members will participate in a panel
discussion with UCSB staff members and resident assistants to personalize and welcome
new students’ entry into the UCSB academic community. Students living in an on-
or off-campus residence hall will meet with their resident assistant in a pre-designated
location in their residence hall; freshmen not living in a residence hall will meet
in the Flying A Studios Room at the University Center (main level); students living
in university-owned apartments will meet at Jameson Center in the Santa Ynez Apartments;
and new transfer students will meet in the Multipurpose Room of the Student Resource
Building (first floor). Freshman living in Santa Catalina will meet for a reception
on the lawn outside of the residence hall at 4:30 p.m.
