Sorority Recruitment 2008
Sunday, September 21st 7:00pm Campbell Hall
Informational meeting about recruitment at Campbell Hall. Registration for recruitment
closes at 12 am. Meet the Panhellenic Executive Board and learn the rules and ways
of recruitment! There will be a very entertaining film that will explain the events
for the week, and also the amazing Recruitment Counselors will be putting on a traditional
and exciting show. This is also a mandatory event. If for any reason, you cannot
make this orientation please call the Panhellenic office at (805) 893-8463. This
will also be one of the last opportunities to register for Recruitment
* Casual attire for this meeting.
Monday, September 22nd
10:00am: Meet your Recruitment Counselors at Embarcadero Hall
Convocation:
3:00 – 4:00 pm general
4:30 – 5:30pm Faculty Presentation in Res Halls
Unity Day
6:00pm Meet your Recruitment Counselors at Embarcadero Hall Get excited!! Ten am
kicks off Fall Formal Recruitment and since registration closed at 12 the night
before, everyone will be good to go. All women will receive a walk-around brochure
that has information about each house and a map of where all the houses are. There
will be break in between for Convocation and recruitment will resume at 6pm where
you will meet up with your recruitment counselor again.
* * Casual attire for this day: jeans, shorts, skirts. Remember to wear some comfortable
shoes!
Tuesday, September 23rd Unity Day II
12:00pm LUNCH Embarcadero Hall
1:00pm Embarcadero Hall Meeting Recruitment Counselors
This day will be the second part to Unity day. Between day 1 and day 2, all potential
new members will be visiting all 10 of our amazing houses. Before the day begins,
there will be an opportunity to meet with Recruitment Counselors for lunch.
* Casual attire for this day: jeans, shorts, skirts. Also remember to dress in comfortable
clothes; this day is longer.
Wednesday, September 24th House Tours Day
9:00am Recruitment Counselor Meeting Embarcadero Hall
1:00 – 1:50 LUNCH
On house tours day… you will be going on Tours of the Houses! UCSB has 10 beautiful
sorority houses that would be any college students dream to live in. During the
house tour you will have the opportunity to meet more active members and ask any
questions you may have. * A casual summer outfit. A comfortable skirt or capris
and blouse is appropriate.
Thursday, September 25th Greek Pillar Day
5:30pm Meet Recruitment Counselor Embarcadero Hall
First day of classes! As each day progresses, the numbers of the houses attending
will be narrowed down. This day will be a maximum of 4 houses, and at these parties
the Standards, Scholarship, Sisterhood and Service pillars will be presented. This
day will be very entertaining!
* A casual summer outfit. This day will be similar to House Tours day.
Friday, September 26th Preference Night
5:30 Meet your Recruitment Counselor at Embarcadero Hall
This recruitment event is held at night and is more formal than previous days. Preference
night is the last night of mutual selection, and will give a preview of rituals
that each house prides them in. This night is very special, and there will be a
maximum of two houses to visit this night.
* A bit more formal. A cocktail dress (knee length) or a skirt and blouse would
be appropriate.
Saturday, September 27th BID DAY
Meet at HSSB Court Yard 12:00
On this day you will receive a bid from a chapter asking you to become a member
of their organization. After you receive this bid you and the other new members
of that sorority will meet up with the active sorority members.
* Something COMFORTABLE. You will receive a bid shirt when you arrive, so wear jeans
or shorts.

members during the Spring 2008 Quarter:

*Business casual attire is appropriate*
Thursday, April 17th: An Affair to Remember
*Semi-formal attire is appropriate*
****All of the events will run from 7-9pm at the AEPhi house at 760 Embarcadero del
Mar. If you need a ride to the house or have any questions don’t hesitate
