Every year the UCSB campus has the opportunity to recognize outstanding student
leaders as well as student organizations. A new award was recently added to the
list of Activities Awards - the Late Nite Social Program Award. This award recognizes
the registered campus organization(s) whose social, recreational, or entertainment-based
event or activity has exemplified the most effective and well-organized alternative
to the Isla Vista party scene and/or promoted safe and responsible social interaction
and behavior on and around the UCSB campus.
Student organizations who are recipients of funding from the UCSB After Dark Late
Nite Social Programming Fund$ program during the academic year are eligible to be
nominated for the award. In addition, the UCSB After Dark committee forwards several nominations to the Activities Awards
committee as well. Nomination forms are available online at the Activities Awards
Website during spring quarter .
Awards are presented at the Annual Activities Awards Ceremony held in June of each
year. A reception immediately follows the ceremony.

- Congratulations to Joining All Cultures Together student organization who received
the 2004-2005 Activities Awards Alternative Social Program citation for excellence
in recognition of their highly successful spring quarter event, The White Linen
Party.
- Improvability, UCSB’s premier comedic improv troupe, received the Activities Award
for Late Nite Social Programming in 2005-2006 in recognition of their weekly improvisational
shows held throughout the year in Isla Vista.
- Attracting over 800 students, The Epic Show, a multicultural concert presented by
the Sigma Chi Omega MultiCultural Fraternity, was recognized as the most outstanding
late night social program of the year receiving the annual 2006-2007 Activities
Award for Alternative Social Programming.
