Anna
She, her, hers
USS Lead Intern

Anna is a second year Art and History of Art and Architecture double major from San Diego County. Anna was born in Mazatlan, Mexico but moved to the U.S at the age of 2. Anna hopes to pursue a career in architecture and design and she hopes to continue making art. Undocumented Student Services has especially helped Anna during her 1st year by providing resources, advice, and services in order to help her flourish as a first generation, undocumented student. Anna loves meeting new people and learning about new people, so feel free to reach out to her, whether it's for questions or for a friendly conversation.

Yafte
She, hers, hers
USS Lead Intern

Yafte is a third year Sociology major and Sociocultural Linguistics minor from San Bernardino, California. She aspires to go to Graduate School and earn a Ph.D on Social Work to become a social worker and support low-income marginalized communities. On Campus, Yafte is a tour guide, visitor center intern, and a part of the undocumented student group IDEAS. You may often find her feeding the ducks near the campus lagoon, reading in the Monarch Lounge, or spending time with friends in Isla Vista.

Martha
She, her, hers
USS Intern

Martha (she/her/hers) is a third year Environmental Studies major from Los Angeles, California. Martha hopes to pursue a career centered on environmental and social justice and wants to eventually start her own business. Martha loves the outdoors and bonding with her natural environments, you can find her hiking and biking by the UCSB coastline and listening to music. USS has been one of the most important resources for Martha since starting at UCSB and is excited to be a part of the team and help other students.

Sunny (she/her/hers) is a fourth year Linguistics major from Orange County, California. Alongside her work with USS, Sunny works as a research assistant under Dr. Jennifer Kam in her work to support DACA college students. When Sunny’s not in the office, you can find her playing around with her camera, taking walks while listening to podcasts, going on spontaneous trips with friends, and napping. In the future, Sunny aspires to create a powerful platform to provide space for people of different backgrounds to share their stories in the hopes of bringing more empathy and love into the world.

UC Immigrant Legal Services Center Intern

Kate (she/her/hers) is a fourth year Sociology major pursuing a double minor in Applied Psychology and Professional Writing in Multimedia Communication. Undocumented Student Services has played a pivotal role in her college career as it provided her with a window opportunities for career-exploration and self-exploration when the doors were closed. From starting off as a Programming Intern to becoming a Lead Intern for USS, Kate is looking forward to transitioning into a UC Immigrant Legal Services Center Intern for the 2020-2021 academic year. When she is not in the office, you can catch her soaking up the warm sun out in Isla Vista or going on road trips with some friends. Something Kate would love to check off her college bucket-list before graduating UCSB is to pull an all-nighter at the library whether it’s for finals or for the fun of it.
