EAO ELIGIBILITY
|
Please review the minimum requirements.

8th Grade
- Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA
- Enroll in and complete Algebra 1, if available at school
- Complete an Individual Academic Plan (IAP) through UC Gateways
|
| Performance expectations may be modified if the courses are not available in the school.
All courses must be A-G approved by the University of California.

9th Grade
- Complete Algebra 1 or Geometry or equivalent
- Complete English 9 or equivalent
- Complete a minimum of two of the following academic subjects:
- Language other than English
- Laboratory Science
- Social Science/College Prep Elective
- Update Individual Academic Plan (IAP)
- take the PSAT or ACT-EXPLORE
- Maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in A-G courses
10th Grade
- Complete Geometry or Algebra II or equivalent
- Complete English 10 or equivalent
- Complete Laboratory Science
- Complete two or more of the following subjects:
- Language other than English
- Social Science/Social Studies
- College Prep Elective
- Enroll in at least one honors/Advanced Placement (AP)/International Baccalaureate (IB) or community college course, if available
- Update IAP
- Take the SAT-II in at least one subject
- Maintain at least a 3.3 GPA in A-G courses
11th Grade
- Complete Trigonometry or Pre-Calculus or equivalent
- Complete English 11 or equivalent
- Complete Laboratory Science
- Complete Social Science (US History)
- Complete Language other than English
- Enroll in at least two honors/AP/IB or community college course, if available
- Take and pass the AP exam with a score of 3 or better (if student has completed an AP course)
- Update IAP
- Take the SAT-/ACT or PSAT for National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) eligibility
- Take the SAT-II in three subjects
- Maintain at least a 3.5 GPA in A-G courses
12th Grade
- Complete Pre-Calculus or Calculus or equivalent
- Complete English 12 or equivalent
- Complete Laboratory Science
- Complete Language other than English
- Complete one or more of the following
- Social Science
- College Prep Elective
- Enroll in at least one honors/AP/IB or community college course, if available
- Take and pass the AP exam with a score of 3 or better (if student has completed an AP course)
- If UC eligible, submit a UC application to at least three UC campuses
- Retake college entrance exams, if appropriate (SAT I, SAT II, ACT)
