California is in the midst of an energy crisis, precipitated by de-regulation and an increasing demand for power. Unfortunately, this crisis is expected to last for the next two years. That means we can expect future power outages and higher rates for electricity and natural gas. The Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs has created a committee to take a pro-active approach toward energy conservation and contingency planning, in support of campus-wide conservation efforts. This web site was designed by the committee to serve as a source of information for divisional staff and managers.
