Black Family Weekend Registration

 
IMPORTANT: All Black Family Weekend events are FREE to anyone who chooses to attend. Completing the Black Family Weekend registration will only register you for BFW events.

If you are interested in other Parents’ & Family Weekend events, you must also register at http://www.ia.ucsb.edu/pfw. Please note that there is a $30 registration fee for Parents’ & Family Weekend.

Saturday, November 7th, 2009
  • Historical & Cultural Traditions at UCSB: A Campus Walking Tour

    10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
    Cheadle Plaza
    This event will give a historical and cultural look at students and their roles on the UCSB campus. Get to know the University through the eyes of your guide during this just over an hour walking tour of the campus. Learn new and interesting facts about UCSB, such as the reason behind the renaming of North Hall to the Malcolm X Hall in 1968! Tours will depart from the Parents & Family Weekend / Black Family Weekend Check-In Tables at the Registration area in Cheadle Plaza.

  • Family Reunion Barbeque

    2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    Student Resource Building Lawn
    Join the Black Student Union and friends for delicious food celebrating the rich culture of the Black community. This is a great chance to meet Black faculty, staff, and Santa Barbara community members in a fun and festive setting. We look forward to seeing you there!   • Student Talent Showcase

    3:00 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.
    SRB lawn
    Come by for an incredible show of entertainment performed by UCSB students as they showcase their talents in a variety of art forms that include spoken word poetry, hip-hop dancing, sultry singing and the historical art form of stepping. This will truly be an event you do not want to miss! Rain site: Student Resource Building Forum
