  • The mission of Orientation Programs is to provide for continuing services and assistance that will:
    • aid new students in their transition to the institution;
    • expose new students to the broad educational opportunities of the institution; and
    • integrate new students into the life of the institution
  • To provide new UCSB students (freshmen and transfers) with assistance during their transition to campus, Orientation Sessions are offered each year between June and August. During these sessions, students receive academic advising, meet faculty and other new students, tour the campus, and select and register for fall quarter courses. Parents of new students also attend Orientation to meet faculty, learn about academic expectations and student support services, preview the challenges faced by students in their first year at UCSB, and become familiar with the campus.
