- The mission of Orientation Programs is to provide for continuing services and assistance that will:
- aid new students in their transition to the institution;
- expose new students to the broad educational opportunities of the institution; and
- integrate new students into the life of the institution
- To provide new UCSB students (freshmen and transfers) with
assistance during their transition to campus, Orientation Sessions are
offered each year between June and August. During these sessions,
students receive academic advising, meet faculty and other new
students, tour the campus, and select and register for fall quarter
courses. Parents of new students also attend Orientation to meet
faculty, learn about academic expectations and student support
services, preview the challenges faced by students in their first year
at UCSB, and become familiar with the campus.
