Faculty Involvement Opportunity
  • Lectures/Discussions
Most of our lectures are given by current faculty or by speakers who have been recommended by professors on campus. Faculty also give us ideas for programs or discussion topics. Some programs can be coordinated to supplement the content for specific courses.
  • Advocacy
Faculty refer students to the Women's Center regarding gender violence, sexual harassment, parenting issues and support, activism, or if they don't know where else to go for assistance.
  • Library
Let your students know we have a library focused on gender issues. Faculty may place their class readers on hold at our library.
  • Rape and Sexual Harassment Education Peers
Faculty often invite staff or students to give presentations or lead discussions in their classes or departments. Faculty can also become discussion leaders themselves.
  • Women's Center Board
Faculty serve on the Board of the Women's Center. This group participates in the development of organization policies, goals and objectives. Members also may be involved in programming and hiring processes.
  • Art Gallery and Meeting Space
Faculty are often involved in recommending artists to display their work in the gallery. The gallery may also be used as a meeting space for colloquia, small classes, staff meetings or other special events.
