Purpose
The purpose of the Campus Leadership Collective, a collection of campus departments, is to value, promote and provide opportunities for the leadership development of all students.
Goals
- Assist students in recognizing and developing the leadership potential within themselves
- Assist students in developing and strengthening their leadership abilities by encouraging them to seek leadership opportunities as part of their educational experience
- Assist students in developing knowledge about the global community in which they will live and work
- Assist students in developing an understanding of the various styles and approaches used by leaders from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds
- Assist student leaders in collaborating with other campus constituencies
- Assist student leaders in recognizing and developing the leadership potential within members of their organizations and communities
- Assist student leaders in establishing and maintaining effective student organizations
- Assist students to understand and recognize the historical, and often grassroots, legacy of student activism and its inherent power to affect change
- Assist students to further develop their leadership skills by engaging in civic activism
- Assist students in utilizing their leadership skills and power to make positive changes within their communities
