- Make sure publicity lists the sponsoring
organization
- Drop off 7 flyers at the OSL (SAASB 2201) front desk
- The flyers will be stamped for approval
- The OSL posting assistant will post on the kiosks in the following locations
- Buchanan Courtyard
- Cheadle Hall
- Counseling and Career Services
- Arbor
- South Hall
- Chemistry
- Library
Do not post, chalk, or tape on bike lane rails, trees, windows, lamp posts, doors, buildings, sidewalks, signs or benches.
Subject to fine.
Flyers and Posters
- Residence Halls - get approval from the front desk of each hall
- Departmental Bulletin Boards - get approval from department
- Butcher paper is available at the UCSB Bookstore; the banner making area is on the third floor of the UCen near the elevator.
- Banners can be up to 8' in length and one can be posted at each of the following
locations:
- Storke Plaza Railings
- Bike tunnels: Pardall, Students Health Service, Rob Gym.
Please refer to the outline of posting regulations published in the UCSB Campus Regulations Applying to Campus Activities, Organizations, and Students on pages 8-10.Important points to review carefully before publicizing and event are 5. Removal of Posted Material and 6. Posting Violations on page 9. The regulations are enforced by the Office of Student life and sanctioned according to the following procedures:
- Fund-Raising Events
First Offenses:
- Forfeiture of the $50.00 publicity bond; or the actual cost of clean-up, whichever is greater as started on the Office of Student Life event planing guide.
Repeat Offenses *:
- Forteiture of the publicity bond encumbered for the event or the actual cost of clean-up, whichever is greater.
- Imposition of a fine up to 40% of the gross receipts of fund-raiser in question.
- Loss of any or all of the organizational privileges.
- Non-Fund-Raising Events
First Offenses:
- Writing warning
- Imposition of a fine up to $20.00.
Repeat Offenses:
- A minimum fine of $50.00 or the actual cost of clean-up, whichever is greater.
- Loss of any or all of the organizational privileges.
* Definition of a Repeat Offense: A person or organization receiving a second notification within the current fiscal year of violating these posting regulations.
For posting violations committed by commercial organizations or groups, a $10.00 fine per flyer/advertisement will be imposed.
