2010 Orientation Staff Application Process


  1. Information Meetings: You may attend any one of the following 45-minute meetings to see if this job is for you.
    Thursday, November 19 4:00pm 2nd Floor Conference Room 2154, SRB
    Wednesday, January 13 4:00pm 2nd Floor Conference Room 2154, SRB
    Thursday, January 14 1:00pm 2nd Floor Conference Room 2154, SRB
    Tuesday, January 19 11:00am Multipurpose Room, SRB
    Tuesday, January 19 3:00pm Multipurpose Room, SRB
    Wednesday, January 20 1:00pm Multipurpose Room, SRB

  2. Written Application: Complete an application and two recommendation forms. Return the application, recommendation forms, and grades printout from GOLD to the Orientation Programs Office, 2145 Student Resource Building, by Noon on Monday, January 25, 2010.

  3. Initial Interview: On Wednesday, January 27, from Noon-5pm, after a screening of written applications, letters will be available in the Orientation Office indicating which applicants will receive initial interviews. You must pick up your letter on this afternoon and immediately schedule an Initial Interview if you are selected. Initial Interviews will take place January 28-February 4.

  4. College Interview: On Friday, February 5, from Noon-5pm, letters will be available in the Orientation Office indicating which applicants will receive college interviews. You must pick up your letter on this afternoon and immediately schedule a College Interview if you are selected. Preparation is required for the College Interview; a study guide will be made available to all applicants at the beginning of the selection process. Topics covered in the College Interview include University Requirements, General Education, registration and an academic topic of particular interest to you. NOTE: College Interviews are done in groups of 3-4 applicants at a time. College Interviews will take place February 8-12.

  5. On Tuesday, February 16, letters will be available in the Orientation Office indicating which applicants will continue for the remainder of the process. If you are continued in the process, you will need to attend the following 2 interviews/meetings:

    1. Student Viewpoint Panel: Thursday, February 18, ONE HOUR during the day according to your schedule. You will be on a panel with three other applicants.

    2. Group Meeting: Monday, February 22 or Tuesday, February 23, from 6:00-9:00pm. You will work in small groups with 5-6 other applicants.

  6. Final Selection: On Friday, February 26 letters will be available in the Orientation Office indicating whether or not you have been offered a position on the 2010 Orientation Staff. Orientation will need notification of your acceptance of our offer no later than Thursday, March 4 at Noon.
