Fall Orientation

The following Orientations will be held in the fall for those who missed Summer Orientation. Please see our page on Academic Advising Resources for assistance in registering for courses.

Freshman Student Orientation

Tuesday, September 23 - 9:45am to 4:00pm
This program is for freshmen who were unable to attend Summer Orientation or college advising. It will include important academic advising and a chance to meet continuing UCSB students who can answer questions about making the transition to UCSB. Our advising staff will make sure you are taking appropriate classes for your first quarter and help you make changes to your fall schedule. Information on how to reserve a space will be e-mailed in late August to freshmen who did not attend Summer Orientation. Program location will be sent in a follow-up e-mail after making a reservation. Reservations are required.

Parent Orientation

Monday, September 22 - 9:00am to 11:30am - Student Resource Building Multipurpose Room
This program is for parents who were unable to attend Summer Orientation. It will include information on UCSB student services, academic expectations, and issues and challenges faced by students in their first year away from home. Reservations are not required.

Transfer Student Orientation

Wednesday, September 24 - 9:30am to 12:00pm - Student Resource Building Multipurpose Room
This program is for transfer students who were unable to attend Summer Orientation or college advising. It will include essential information on academic requirements, the registration process, campus services, and important deadlines. Reservations are not required.

Graduate Student Orientation

Wednesday, September 24 - 9:00am to 12:30pm - Campbell Hall
New graduate students should attend this meeting to receive important information about registration, the Graduate Division, Graduate Students Association, Student Health, Counseling Services, Career Services, and other campus resources. Workshops on important graduate issues will also be offered. Reservations are not required.
