Reserve Your Space in a Transfer Orientation Session
Please read the information on this website about Transfer Orientation (and Parent/Family
Orientation) before completing your online Reservation Form. It is especially important
that you have read and understood the policies outlined below on this page regarding
Program Fees, Changes and Cancellations. Your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR)
must be received by the UCSB Admissions Office before you can access the online
Orientation Reservation Form.
To complete the Reservation Form you will need:
- Your session date first choice, and alternative dates if your first choice is not
available
- The names of your parents or adult family members who want to attend Parent/Family
Orientation
Sign up for an Orientation session by submitting the online Reservation Form which
is available by clicking on the link below. On the form, choose your session date
from the list of those which are available. Submit your form promptly! Space in
each Orientation session is limited and session dates will close when they are filled.
Confirmation of Session Date
You will be confirmed for Orientation when you complete and submit the online Reservation
Form. Follow the directions on the form until you reach the final screen that confirms
your session date. Students who arrive at Orientation without a confirmed reservation
will not be able to register for classes at Orientation.
Please be sure to see

bring, planning for advising & registration, and further details about preparing

Program Fees
The program fee is $76 per person. Fees for all participants will be billed in the
fall on the student's UCSB BARC Billing Statement. Students are required to pay
in full the amount of the fees for all participants, including parents and family
members, who have registered for UCSB Orientation on their Reservation Form. Fee
payment deadlines will be noted on the statement. Fees are assessed per person.
If you have an annual family income of $35,000 or less, you may qualify to apply
for a fee reduction. See the information below on how to apply for a student program
fee reduction.
Changes and Cancellations
Space in Orientation is limited and we would like to accommodate as many new students
and their parents as possible. Therefore, it is important that you notify us as
soon as possible if you or your parents/family members need to change or cancel
your reservation. Please select your date carefully. Any change to your reservation
is subject to availability and must be made at least one week in advance of your
session date. There is a $15 service charge per change or cancellation. Services
charges will be billed in addition to program fees on the student's UCSB BARC Billing
Statement in the fall.
Changes and cancellations cannot be made online. Please call Orientation Reservations
at 805-893-2197 if you need assistance.
Fee Reductions
A limited number of fee reductions are available to eligible students from families
with annual incomes of $35,000 or less. These are allocated based on need and in
the order we receive applications until funds are depleted. To apply, complete and
mail the Application for a Fee Reduction available by clicking on the link below.
If approved, your Orientation fee will be reduced by $35.00 and you will be billed
for the remainder of your fee in the fall. Fee reductions are for students only.
