Every weekend there is the familiar ring of questions... What's going on? What's up? What's there to do? PLENTY! It's all a matter of knowing where to find out about what's happening. Up-to-date listings of events in a broad range of areas from arts and entertainment to sports and recreation can be found at your fingertips through online resources or local publications. The best resources are area newspapers: the UCSB Daily Nexus covers most campus events, with a regular Monday column, On Campus This Week, and a Thursday feature ad, the UCSB After Dark Weekend Calendar. The Independent, the county's news and entertainment newspaper, and the Friday edition of the Santa Barbara News Press have details about a vast array of events and activities. The UCSB After Dark Weekend Calendar, UCSB's weekly entertainment guide, is the best source to get the "411" on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night events happening on campus, around Isla Vista and in the communities of Goleta and Santa Barbara. In addition to appearing in the Thursday edition of the Nexus, the After Dark calendar is also posted at various locations including campus kiosks and residence halls and can be accessed on-line at

A sampling of weekend late night options are scheduled as part of the Discovery Days week of welcome. "Life After Dark" activities include a dance, film screening, improvisational show, concert, and various socials. Please refer to the After Dark calendar for details and look out for posters and fliers when you arrive on campus.
Keep your eyes open throughout the year for the UCSB After Dark calendar as well as other posters and fliers that blanket campus alerting students to upcoming events and activities sponsored by any one of UCSB's vast array of campus clubs and numerous community organizations.
