Step-by Step Guide to Setting up Presentations

  • Step 1. Set a date, time and location of where the workshop will be held.
  • Step 2. Contact your presenter with the preferred date, time, location and number of participants that will be in attendance. This helps the presenter prepare and have a positive experience.
  • Step 3. Each workshop/presentation needs to be a minimum of 60 minutes.
  • Step 4. Seventy percent of your chapter members are required to attend each workshop.
  • Step 5. Complete the Educational Verification Form. Remember, you need the presenter to sign this form to verify your chapter’s participation.
  • Step 6. Return the Educational Verification Form to the Greek Resource Center, located in Student Resource Building (SRB) Rm. #1104.
  • Step 7. It is required to do 3 workshops fall and 2 workshops winter and one workshop during spring quarter.

There are opportunities to have chapter members trained in presenting the following topic areas: Alcohol and other Drugs, Nutrition, Eating Disorders, and Sexual Assault. Student Health’s Health Education Department and the Women’s Center continually train students to present in the areas listed above. Trained chapter members can present these topic areas to their chapters and meet their educational requirements.

If you or other chapter members are interested in this option please call 893-4551 or email kristin.vanramshorst@sa.ucsb.edu for additional information. If your chapter has questions, wants alternatives regarding the workshop requirements or would like additional resources in the areas listed above please call the Greek Affairs Office at 805-893-8463.
