Leadership Education & Action Program
LEAP provides freshmen, from a wide range of backgrounds and with a variety of future goals, intensive leadership training and access to leadership opportunities. Freshmen apply during fall and sixteen students are chosen based on their potential for development.
This program provides intensive leadership training to help first-year students develop potential as future leaders at UCSB and beyond. LEAP offers students tools to better understand themselves as a growing leader, student and unique individual. Students will also focus on local/national/international issues that concern them and how they can create change as leaders. In the spring, the students will be paired with a staff/community mentor who will guide their further development in this issue/area of interest.
2007-08 and 2008-09 cohort reunion.
Students, this is a great program to learn about yourself, your style, your passions and your goals while building lasting connections and making new friends!
Only 12-16 students are selected each year, and each one must commit to do the work affiliated with the program.
Applications are available online now and due by Friday, Nov. 6, 2009. Click here to proceed to the online application.
