Financial Aid

More and more students are seeking financial assistance as the cost of higher education continues to rise. UCSB is a relatively low-cost public institution, but the financial and budgetary adjustment required of students and families can undoubtedly be difficult.

Various grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study programs are offered to students who are eligible for financial aid. Personal computers and student health insurance are recognized as part of a student's educational expenses by the UCSB Financial Aid Office. These costs are all included in financial aid awards.

The deadline to apply for financial assistance to begin in the fall quarter is March 2 of each year. Applications received after the deadline will be considered for the Pell Grant, Direct Loans, and the Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS). For more information, your student should contact the Office of Financial Aid. Answers to common parent questions are available on the Financial Aid Web site.
