Hey Gauchos! My name is Buki Akinyemi and I am a fourth year pursuing my degree in Biopsychology. Looking back on these past three years, I am grateful for the opportunities and people that I have had the pleasure of meeting and I am looking forward to giving back to the UCSB community as my time here comes to an end. In addition to my service on this wonderful committee, I work as an ACE Chemistry tutor for CLAS, am a Resident Assistant in the San Joaquin Apartments, and am a proud McNair Scholar. Students are always at the center of every decision made by the committee; your needs matter to me and they matter to us! In my third and final year serving on the committee and I am excited for the opportunity to serve as Chair of SFAC where I can continue to serve the needs of my fellow Gauchos. Letís have another great year!

Hi Gauchos, my name is Zingha Foma and I am a third year pursuing my degree in History and Art. In addition to serving as an undergraduate representative on the Student Fee Advisory Committee, I am also a McNair scholar, where I research traditional dress as an artifact and its evolution in West African history. I also serve as the chair of the MultiCultural Center (MCC), Black Student Union (BSU) chair, and work as an intern for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) as a mentor. As the Vice-Chair of the committee, I look forward to using my voice to effectively and efficiently represent and serve the student body at UCSB.

Hi Gauchos! My name is Kirsten Warnke and I am a fourth year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Economics & Accounting. As a student, I'm passionate about improving student and faculty life here at UCSB. This will be my third and last year on the committee. I am ecstatic to continue to represent the student population and serve the needs of the students. Aside from serving on SFAC I currently work as the Intramural Student Director for UCSB Recreational Sports, am the student representative on the Student Medical Emergency Relief Fund (SMERF), chairman of the Events Center Governance Board, and sit on the campus elections committee. I am excited to see what this school year will bring and to find ways of how to best impact the student body!

Hello, my name is Mathew Watson and I am a third year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies. As a fellow student, my most important objective is to improve student and faculty life here at UCSB by listening to and participating in programs with the student body. This will be my second year on the committee and I am more than excited to remain serving as a representative for the student population. Aside from serving on SFAC I currently work as an Intramural and Club Student Athletic Trainer and RecSports Office Staff for UCSB Recreational Sports. I am also a student representative on the Student Medical Emergency Relief Fund (SMERF). I am excited to get the year underway and experience another amazing year here at UCSB with my fellow Gauchos!

Hello, my name is Anthony Bolden, and Iím a second year undergraduate student majoring in Biological Psychology. I am the sophomore undergraduate representative for SFAC, and Iím motivated to serve my first year as a member of the committee by helping to ameliorate everyday student life. Besides being a member of SFAC, I work as a student athletic trainer in UCSBís Recreational Sports Department where I have the opportunity to work with hundreds of UCSBís club sport athletes. Iím also a student mentor with the Cultural Mentorship Program (CMP) for the Black Scholars Hall in Santa Rosa, a position that gives me the privilege to guide young students as they begin their undergraduate experience here at UCSB. Iím honored to play such a pivotal role in improving the quality of life for students and excited for what the year has to offer.

Hello Gauchos! My name is Jennifer Pulido and I am a second year student majoring in Biological Psychology. I currently work with UCPD as Community Service Officer, which gives me the amazing opportunity to interact with fellow students. This will be my first year with the committee and I look forward to learning how to incorporate students' voices into the decisions we make. I am happy to have been granted the privilege of being on this committee and I am excited to see the great things this year will bring!

Jeremy Edwards is a third year doctoral student in Education with an emphasis in Cultural and Developmental Studies. In 2014, he received his B.A. in Psychology from UCLA with a minor in Education Studies. Under the advisory of Dr. Richard Duran, his current research focuses on university partnerships with local high schools in efforts to engage in dialogue about access to higher education for low-income, first generation college-bound students. Ultimately, he is interested in how access to outreach programs can help create academic pathways for urban youth in efforts to promote academic growth and self-concept. As a continuing SFAC member, he looks forward to supporting the various initiatives, programs, and services in student affairs that ultimately meet the needs of students.

Lee DeAnda is the Assistant Math/Sciences Coordinator and a Senior Math Instructor for Campus Learning Assistance Services (CLAS). Lee DeAnda earned both a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masterís Degree in Education from UCSB. Lee DeAnda is passionate about helping all students and especially students who have historically struggled in math.
I am passionate about helping students succeed in math, especially students who have yet to realize their mathematical potential. I believe everyone can learn math just like anyone can learn how to play the guitar. It just takes practice and dedication. I am a strong advocate for students both in and outside of the classroom. I am enthusiastic to serve on SFAC and look forward to advocating on the behalf of students for the upkeep and improvement of student services.
