We are bringing Legendary Bingo - Bingo Boy
and Drag Queen, as seen on “Welcome to the Parker” reality show
from Bravo TV, to host UCSB's first "Drag Queen Bingo Night". This
is a fundraising event in collaboration with The Hub, Queer Student Union and
Hermanas Unidas. Big prizes will be given out and admission is FREE! Donations
will be accepted as proceeds will be contributed to HIV/Aidswalk Fund through
Pacific Pride Foundation. Join us for great entertainment and fun!

Film & Speaker Trained in the Ways of Men, directed by transgender
activist Shelley Provost, takes a critical examination of the murder
trial of Gwen Araujo. In October, 2002, 17 year old Gwen Araujo
was brutally murdered at a party in Newark, California upon discovery
that she was biologically male. The film features footage of the
trial as well as Gwen’s mother and family members advocating
for justice for Gwen, while also taking an intimate look at the
lives of transgender women. Following the film screening, please
join us for a question & answer session with Gwen’s mother,
Sylvia Guerrero.

This workshop will explore the multiple identities of individuals
and the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality through a
brief presentation on lesbian of color
organizing and interactive exercises. Personal reflection and discussion will
comprise the rest of the workshop. Alice Y. Hom is a community activist, educator,
and writer. She has published in Amerasia Journal, The Journal of Asian American
Studies, and The Very Inside: An Anthology of Writing by Asian and Pacific
Islander Lesbian and Bisexual Women. She also co-edited the award-winning anthology
entitled, Q & A: Queer in Asian America. Co-sponsored by MultiCultural
Center, Women’s Center, RCSGD.

Step Up! Step Out! The 17th Annual Heart & Sole
AIDS Walk, a benefit for Pacific Pride Foundation’s HIV/AIDS
programs and services, will take place on Saturday, October 6th
at the Soccer Field at Chase Palm Park.
The route is 10-kilometers (6.2 miles) and leads walkers along
the beach on Cabrillo Boulevard. The Walk ends with a beachside
celebration with complimentary snacks, live music, free massages
