Admissions and Outreach Services
Interns provide general office support to include (when applicable): assisting guests, answering phones, data entry, scanning forms, leading campus tours, and advising visitors about the UCSB student experience as well as admissions and other university information. Interns are trained in a variety of areas that address the concerns of prospective students and their families as well as support the implementation of departmental activities, events and programs. Interns must develop strong communication, organizational, and technical skills over the course of the internship in order to effectively promote the academic quality and experiential diversity of the campus.
Arts and Lectures
Each year Arts & Lectures hires about 50 students to assist us in presenting more than 200 films, lectures and performances by world-class artists. Positions require Work-Study.
Associated Students
Associated Students employs over 200 students in a wide variety of positions to support the work of the professional staff, provide the continuity needed for the organization to function and empower student leaders to create change. A.S. also offers hundreds of volunteer positions and networks with community agencies through the Community Affairs Board and provides leadership opportunities throughout student government.
Campus Learning Assistance Services
Campus Learning Assistance Services (CLAS) helps students increase their mastery of course material through course-specific group instruction, academic skills development and writing assistance services. Instructors and student tutors hold instructional groups in Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Engineering, Math and Physics. Drop-in centers are available in the previous subjects as well as in Writing, and Foreign Languages. In addition, CLAS offers study skills consultations and academic skills workshops.

Counseling Center
Stress management peer advisors work in the Stress Management Peer Office of Counseling Services. We help students of all ages learn new strategies for coping with stress. We provide one-on-one support as well as larger workshops and presentations to help students be successful both personally and academically.
Disabled Students Program
The Disabled Students Program (DSP) works to:
* Increase the retention and graduation rates of students with temporary and permanent disabilities
* Assure equal access to all educational and academic programs
* Foster student independence
* Acts as a resource for faculty and staff
* Acts as a campus liaison regarding issues and regulations that are related to UCSB's disabled student population
Early Academic Outreach
Interns are crucial in coordinating Academic Tours for partnership schools (high school and junior high school), conduct student and parent presentation as well as assist in data processing and with operational processes. MS and HS outreach and Interns help our department to increase the number of students qualified to enter a four year college following HS graduation.
Educational Opportunity Program
The student staff play an integral role as the campus outreach arm of EOP by extending the programs and services to the student community where they live and study. The Student staff direct students our offices and cultural resource centers. The student staff serve as a source of information, support and assist with the implementation of programs and various services offered by EOP.
Financial Aid Office
The University of California, Santa Barbara Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships provides students with the financial resources and related services necessary to achieve their educational goals. We are committed to providing accurate, user-friendly, responsive, and respectful service to students and their families. We administer federal, state, and university aid and scholarship programs in accordance with applicable policies and regulations while striving to be an innovative and service-minded department.
Graduate Students Association
The GSA is the elected representative government for graduate and professional students at UCSB. We work to ensure that graduate student concerns are addressed in on- and off-campus policy decisions. We also provide graduate students with information concerning decisions that are relevant to graduate student life and organize graduate social events.
International Students & Scholars
The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) promotes the academic mission of the university by providing a range of services and programs for the campus and its international students and scholars who study, teach, and engage in research.
Isla Vista Liaison
Students who are employed in the Office of the Isla Vista/UCSB Liaison have latitude to create and develop programs and projects to improve the quality of life for all residents of this community.
MultiCultural Center
The MultiCultural Center's mission is to provide a safe space, to facilitate the recruitment and retention of students of color, international students and gay, lesbian and bisexual students, and to combat institutional racism and ethnocentrism. These aims are to be realized in part through educational programming, which would promote changes in attitudes and behaviors throughout the campus community.
Office of Judicial Affairs
The Office of Judicial Affairs strives to create a safe and intellectually challenging setting for UCSB students to live and learn, and to maintain an environment conducive to UCSB's principles of "Scholarship, Leadership, and Citizenship." We do this by: publishing and enforcing the UCSB Campus Regulations, administering the campus judicial process, serving as the main reporting point for hate crimes and incidents, educating the campus community about academic integrity and responsible conduct, and providing information and assistance to students regarding student rights and grievance procedures.

The purpose of the Office of Student Life is to offer ongoing assistance for student initiatives, encourage involvement in campus life, and serve as a primary liaison to students.
Our Student Staff are invaluable in the fulfillment of this purpose. They are our first contact with the campus community and always strive to provide excellent service.
Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar establishes and maintains the academic records of the university and provides students with the enrollment services necessary to attain their educational goals. We support the mission of the university by providing accurate, responsive, and respectful service through the continual development of our staff, policies, procedures and technology.
Office of the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs
The office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs operates to carry out the overall mission of the Division of Student Affairs. Student Assistants are hired to work as clerical support for the Vice Chancellor and office staff. In addition to these positions, there is one special position in which a student is chosen on an annual basis for the Stephen S. Goodspeed Internship.

Orientation Programs
Orientation Programs at UC Santa Barbara serves the needs of incoming freshmen and transfer students, and their parents and family members through Orientation Sessions in Summer, Fall and Winter. Sessions are designed to provide the academic and student service based information that students need in order to be successful as they begin their UCSB career.
In a very leadership focused position, Orientation Staff Members implement each aspect of the Orientation Sessions after completing extensive training on all aspects of the University.

Job Position: DEREK PALMER - Multimedia Editor Position Contact: Job Description: Primary responsibility is creation and editing of web-video content for the Daily Nexus website, including finding possible stories, filming content, and uploading all content to the website. Furthermore, Multimedia is responsible for making sure all social networks are kept up-to-date, including posting periodic updates of new content to sites, ie: Facebook, Twitter, etc. Multimedia is also responsible for creating other online media, such as slideshows, web photo galleries, and podcasts. Job Position: SIEVA KOZINSKY - Advertising Representative Position Contact: Job Description: My job entails me calling accounts to sell advertising space in the Daily Nexus. I have to explain why the Nexus is a good place for them to put their money, which usually has something to do with attracting people between the ages of 18 and 23 as well as faculty and staff. An important part of my job is believing that people read the paper and that advertisers will attract their attention. I do believe in our paper, because I personally enjoy reading it everyday, which in turn makes my advice to advertisers more compelling. Number of Positions: 1
