Weekly Groups and Workshops

All groups meet at the Women's Center

Aging Parent Support Group

For those of us who face the difficult issues that come with being responsible for the well being of our aging parents, life can be very stressful. Many decisions we must make are overwhelming emotionally, physically, and mentally. Becoming the “parents” of our parents is often a very uncomfortable and painful life transition. This group meets as both a support group and an educational forum and is facilitated by Wendy Nishikawa, Work Life Coordinator in Human Resources/Benefits, 893-7323.

Know What You Feel! Say What You Mean!

This workshop teaches assertiveness skills, focusing on gender and cultural differences in communication. Jane Carlise, Ph.D., counselor at Counseling Services facilitates this workshop. To sign up, please stop by or call the Women’s Center, 893-3778.

Join these weekly chat groups in a comfortable and safe place where you can share thoughts, exchange ideas, and discuss ways to deal with issues facing UCSB women students.
