General Resources for Sexual Violence Information

  • National Center for Victims of Crime
    Has an extensive “get help series,” which includes information on acquaintance rape, male rape, rape-related post traumatic stress disorder, sexual assault legislation, stalking, and dating violence. Also substantial information about stalking through the “Stalking Resource Center,” which includes help for victims, stalking laws and statistics.
  • Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network
    (RAINN)

    Information on statistics, prevention, recovery, types of sexual assault, effects of sexual assault, and legal information. Also has a “what should I do?” section and a Rape Crisis Center finder.
  • Crime Statistics for UCSB and the Surrounding Community
    UCSB’s Clery Act Campus Security Report is updated annually to provide crime statistics for the UCSB campus and surrounding community as well as summaries of campus safety and security policies.
  • Peace over Violence
    (formerly Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women)

    Sexual assault information for survivors of sexual assault and friends/family of survivors. Information about your right, myths and realities. Domestic violence information with statistics and a “how do I know if I’m battered?” section. “Common Reactions” section for survivors of sexual violence and frequently asked questions. Also an extensive public policy section.

    Detailed information about general sexual assault campus policy and procedures. The information applies only when the accused perpetrator is a UCSB student.
