Career Services
Career Services offers a wide range of services that can help you find jobs and internships, decide on your major, and plan your career. You can find free access to online job listings through GauchoLink and other job search engines at http://career.sa.ucsb.edu/students/job-search or browse an extensive library of hardcopy and online resources. You can also visit a career peer or a professional counselor during drop-in hours to ask questions, review drafts of your résumé, or get help with brainstorming how to find jobs in a particular field. If needed, you can also schedule longer appointments. Career Services is located in Building 599 (the pink building with green trim), next to the Humanities & Social Sciences building and close to Storke Tower. Federal Work-Study
Federal Work-Study is a great way to earn some extra cash, keep your student loan debt low, and build a great résumé all at once. You can choose from many work-study employment opportunities on and off campus. To learn more about work-study, visit http://www.finaid.ucsb.edu/WorkStudy.aspx or log into “My Aid Status” on the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships website. You can also speak with a financial aid advisor by calling (805) 893-4382 or visiting the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships on the 2nd floor of the Student Affairs Administrative Services Building (SAASB). Interview Clothing
If you need interview clothes, you can request a referral to Unity Shoppe via a social worker (you must schedule an appointment at 805-893-3087); the Department of Women, Gender, and Sexual Equity (805-893-4284); or the Educational Opportunity Program (805-893-4758).
