The Student Affairs Student Cabinet (SASC) is a unique leadership opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to get involved in student life and advocacy!

Each year, Student Affairs seeks applications from students who would like to serve as student representatives on the Student Affairs Student Cabinet to leave a lasting impact at UCSB. The Student Cabinet serves as a think tank that brainstorms and makes recommendations on how the Division of Student Affairs can improve the student experience and address campus issues. It is a space for student collaboration within the Student Affairs by offering insights into their experiences as students.

Selected members of the SASC provide feedback on numerous policies and programs, discuss campus improvement, and utilize this platform to address student life, safety, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Moreover, members establish strong network ties within Student Affairs and gain professional development skills and experience (e.g., networking, résumé building). The Student Cabinet is expected to convene biweekly.

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships offers SASC members an annual stipend of $300, which is incorporated into their existing financial aid award package.
